The Art of making the perfect cuppa!
Making a fine cup of Tea is an art form, so many of us just settle for a quick and easy cuppa. However if we all added just a few extra minutes to our routine we would increase our enjoyment tenfold.
Each type of Tea can require a slightly different brewing technique, (We'll add as many as we can over time) however there are a few general steps to making your tea better, follow them religiously any taste the difference.
The Perfect "Generic" Cuppa
Step One.
Always use fresh water, Never re-boil the water already in the kettle, partly because its a waste of energy (we like to keep things green) but secondly the Tea brews much better with oxygen rich water. Boiling the water looses oxygen therefore reduces the effectiveness.
Step Two:
Warm your Teapot a little, pour some of the boiled water in to the teapot to warm it through. The warmer teapot helps the water stay hot longer which helps the tea blend. (Pour water away)
Step Three:
Add one rounded spoon of Tea per cup into the Teapot (You could also use Teabags), and one small to medium (cup) amount of water as per the amount of Tea.
Step four:
Leave the Tea to Brew for around 4 minutes, If you purchase speciality tea it will usually have ideal brewing time on the packet.
Step Five:
Taste the Tea without adding any Milk and Sugar, If you have a good quality Tea leaf you'll be surprised how good it tastes compared to the traditional Builders (not that Builders is bad)
Step Six: Add milk and sugar if you desire and get the bikkies out the cupboard.
Step Seven:
Drink your Tea
