Too Teapot or not too Teapot, That is the question!
Is there a benefit to using teapots? There's a growing community that say there is. Although its seen as an old fashioned technique, there are many advantages to using a teapot to brew up. Too often its seen as a Taste vs convenience dilemma in which the "lazy" in us just add the tea bag into the cup and add hot water, getting the drink quicker & saving on washing up after, but somewhat sacrificing on taste. The truth is if your a full time Tea drinker like myself there is more convenience, taste and less washing up when you use the good old teapot.
Benefits
The benefits are almost endless, without doubt the tea tastes better from a tea pot. i'm sure there is scientific reasoning and evidence proving this some where on the internet, but to me its just obvious. It gives the tea time to properly infuse into the water. It also allows the opportunity use loose tea (which tends to be better quality) or tea bags as well, meaning everybody is a winner.
Making a pot of tea can be a social event or a convenient use of time. A pot consists of more than one cup, therefore if you have fiends round or your working from home a full pot can service more than one cup at a time. Saving you time and effort (and money) getting up to put the kettle on every time you fancy a drink.
Modern Teapots
From Traditional porcelain to metal and glass, teapots come in all shapes and sizes. The new ultra modern craze is for stylish designs that are designed to be on display as much as they are functional.
For me the new trend is excellent for tea drinkers. The fact that the people are unashamed for the teapots to be on display and in some cases are somewhat of a centre piece or a stylish accessory. Tea is in the mainstream now, for years we've had coffee makers taking centre stage and pride of place in the kitchen, now (finally) we have some pride in our Teapots.

The T Revolution
Just as coffee was the "in" drink in years gone by, Tea is now taking pride of place in the home as well as on the high streets. The growing trend of Tea bars on the high streets of London is a joy to behold. Becoming more common place every week, Tea is now the in trendy drink and Tea Bars are favourite hangout for for the socially aware trend followers. The convenience of Tea now is bringing back drinkers that may have jumped ship when the "Coffee boat" docked a decade ago. I'm not suggesting that the War with Coffee is over, but it has certainly taken an interesting turn. The drink once seen as upper class, which then became a drink for the "oldies" and subsequently became forgotten about is now the trendy hangout for the popular and fashionable across the UK.
